Every year, between June and November, Chile’s mountains are beautifully dressed in snow, making July, August, and September the best months to come to enjoy snow sports in our mountains.

Why is this place unique

APEX Backcountry Guides and The Araucanía Andina

The Chilean Andes is where APEX Backcountry Guides is located, and it is the longest continental mountain range in the world. Andina means related or belonging to the Andes, which are formed by the subduction of the Nazca Plate beneath the South American Plate. This results in stunning peaks with incredible descents surrounded by volcanic views in a Jurassic setting. The lesser-known Araucanía region of Chile shares the same name as its national treasure, the mythical Araucaria tree, also known as the "Monkey Puzzle" tree. A consistently deep snowpack with a great variety of terrain allows us to pick the perfect aspects ensuring the best conditions from blower snow to stable chutes!
