Booking Policies

We enjoy the process of getting to know our guests on a personal level and the booking process is a continuation of the values that make our offerings stand above the rest. No booking sites or automated responses, we keep it old school to maintain our connection and to ensure you know that with APEX Backcountry Guides you are more than just a number in the bank log. Our up front and personalized service extends to all aspects of the process.

Contact us directly

  • All rates and deposits are in US funds, and that an allowance will be made for exchange if payment is in foreign currency. Rates are subject to change without notice.

  • Your initial deposit is equal to 20% of your total trip cost for Multi-day Programs and 50% for all Day Trips. The "Deposit" for each trip that you are applying to book is non-refundable.

  • APEX Multi-day Program Final Payment or Full Payments are due and payable directly to APEX Backcountry Guides through Bank Transfer, Major Credit Card, or Cash fourteen (14) days before the commencement date for all trips booked; and that in cases where these Final Payments are not received fourteen (14) days ahead of time, APEX Backcountry Guides reserves the right to release these spaces and you will forfeit your Deposit.

  • APEX Day Trip Final Payment or Full Payment is due and payable directly to APEX Backcountry Guides through Bank Transfer, Major Credit Card, or Cash at the completion of services provided by APEX Backcountry Guides.

  • Furthermore, all payments for APEX Backcountry Guides services are deemed Deposits for the purposes of the terms of booking and are non-refundable.

Booking Terms
  • All cancellations must be received by telephone at +56962092693(Gabi) / +56941248548(Forrest) or confirmed in writing by email to apexbackcountryguides@gmail.com.

  • If you can find a replacement guest for the same booking a guest name change will be made and, you will incur a $100 administration fee. It is the responsibility of the guest, not APEX Backcountry Guides, to find a valid space replacement. The cost of the trip for space replacement will be the current price on the date of booking. To insure group continuity a valid space replacement is subject to the new guest’s skier or rider ability being appropriate for the program they are joining and therefore, APEX Backcountry Guides reserves the right to refuse a space replacement for these reasons, cancellation rules may be applied if a suitable replacement can not be found.

  • If cancellation is received more than fourteen (14) days before the trip commencement and you cannot find a replacement for the trip booked, the Deposit less 50% can be applied to a New Booking within the same Season as the original booking.​

  • If cancellation is received by APEX Backcountry Guides less than seven (7) days before the trip commencement date and you cannot find a space replacement for the trip booked, all funds received by APEX Backcountry Guides are non-refundable.

  •  Deposits cannot be transferred to any other season.

  • Splitboarding and Ski-Touring season = May 15, 2024 through to November 3, 2024 

  • Heli-Skiing & Heli-Boarding Season = July 1, 2024 through to August 31, 2024

Guest Cancellation or Change

​APEX Backcountry Guides does everything in its power to ensure that each advertised program and day trip is seen through to completion. In the event of unforeseen and uncontrollable circumstances. 

  • Move Applied Funds to a point in the same season or season subject to space availability;

  • Put Applied Funds on account to be used towards a new trip within 2 years at same cost of original booking

  • If guest minimum is not reached you will receive a buyout option

  • Refund of Applied Funds paid, if above options are not suitable for the guest

Guest Options if APEX Cancels
  • ​ APEX Backcountry Guides reserves the right to release your space and you will forfeit Applied Funds in the event that the statutes listed below are not completed or are violated by the guest at any point during activities. It is for your safety and the safety of all parties.

    • Participation in any APEX Backcountry Guides activity is conditional on you completing our Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risk, Warning, Indemnity and Consent to Medical Treatment Agreement (the “APEX Waiver ”) prior to your activity.

    • Guests may not be intoxicated or under the influence of drugs or alcohol during participation in activities.

    • Guest must not be hung over in order to avoid sustaining unnecessary injuries and putting others at risk.

    • Guest must obey guide direction at all times, failure to do so may lead to the immediate termination of activities and forfeiture of all Applied Funds. 

    • It is your responsibility to arrive at the required times; and it is your responsibility for any extra costs incurred if a scheduled APEX Departure is missed.  

    • It is your responsibility to ensure proper entry through the Customs and Immigration offices of Chile. (it's free and easy)

    • Refunds of Applied Funds will not be given in cases where entry into Chile has been denied.

  • Should events beyond the reasonable control of APEX Backcountry Guides occur, including but not limited to:

    • Major disease, government regulation, advisory (including travel advisory warnings), pandemic, terrorism or threats of terrorism as substantiated by governmental warnings or advisory notices, curtailment of transportation services or facilities which would materially affect attendees from attending

    • Disaster, fire, earthquakes or extreme inclement weather, making your trip commercially impracticable, dangerous to guests, impracticable to perform, illegal, or impossible to fully perform activities.

    • APEX may cancel your trip and terminate your booking, upon written notification. In such circumstances, please refer to APEXs cancellation policy for more information on how your Applied Funds may be handled.

    • APEX will not be liable for any liquidated damages, cancellation fees, rental charges, service charges, or any direct, consequential, compensatory, incidental damages or any other damages or amounts of any nature whatsoever.
